Special message from DRTC
Deborah Copeland, DRTC Executive Director
Answering the call of Governor Kevin Stitt’s most recent Executive Orders, Dale Rogers Training Center (DRTC) will close its Vocational Rehabilitation programs effective 11:59pm Wednesday, March 25, 2020. Approximately 120 people with disabilities are employed at the agency, which has been a mainstay in Northwest Oklahoma City since 1953.
DRTC operates awards and promotional items, as well as picture framing divisions that further the mission of providing meaningful work opportunities for people with disabilities, and is a State Use-approved vendor. Designated staff are able to continue supporting customers through remote telework. Online orders from state customers will be accepted while the main campus is closed, with a “to be determined” delivery date.
While the vocational rehabilitation programs on the main campus are temporarily ceasing, the agency’s Employment Services program still provides support and services according to the guidelines provided by the Department of Rehabilitation Services. DRTC also continues to operate federal contracts for custodial and food service as “essential critical infrastructure” according to federal guidelines. Staff will continue to support these locations and the employment opportunities they provide.
DRTC will provide more updates on DRTC.org and its social media channels.
