Camp Tumbleweed Academy

An in-person summer day camp for high school freshmen-seniors with disabilities.

Camp Dates: June 5-23

Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm 

Cost:

  • $175 due at enrollment
  • $350 due by first day of camp
  • Total for camp: $525

Camp Objectives: 

  • Appropriate communication boundaries
  • Technology safety
  • Transportation into the community
  • Staying safe with police encounters

Camp Activities:

  • DRTC Academy – online learning tool
  • Team building
  • Small and large group discussions
  • Field trips
  • Interactions with community leaders

Benefits of Camp:

  • Camp will be directed by a public school teacher with a degree in Special Education
  • Assistants have experience working with students with disabilities

Students will:

  • Experience real life training and practice skills learned.
  • Learn computer skills
  • Learn how to have safe interactions with others in the community
  • Gain self confidence
  • Become comfortable exploring the community
